چکیده

The objective of the research was to study signs oxidative stress, state proteolysis, and proteinase-inhibiting system blood plasma in rats with streptozotocin-induced diabetes mellitus (60 mg/kg intra-abdominally), complicated by cerebral ischemia-reperfusion. Levels products lipid peroxide oxidation, protein modification, nitrogen oxide metabolites, activity antioxidant protection enzymes were determined means biochemical methods one hour after completion reperfusion period on 12th day. Increased intensity peroxidation found occur without both terms observation. This accompanied an increase all enzymes, while animals amount decreased ground prevailing depression enzymes. Irrespective a tendency changes POM ischemia-reperfusion, their content is reliably higher observation than those diabetes, which indicative oxidation. Without proteolytic reacts increasing values studied parameters against background suppression proteinase inhibitory during entire period, rats, proteolysis remain data obtained allowed us that considerably modifies response systemic pathobiochemical indices

Bilateral ovarian ischemia/reperfusion injury and treatment options in rats with an induced model of diabetes

Objective(s):This study investigated the effects of melatonin, famotidine, mirtazapine, and thiamine pyrophosphate on ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury in diabetic rats and evaluated oxidant and antioxidant marker measurement results. It also examined the effects of the drugs aimed at preventing infertility that may result from I/R injury. Materials and Methods: Diabetic rats were divided into ...

The effects of acupuncture on rats with brain ischemia-reperfusion.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the damage of brain ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) caused by occlusion of the middle cerebral artery (MCA), and the effects of acupuncture on this damage. METHODS This investigation took place in the Experimental Research Unit of Firat University, Elazig, Turkey in January-February 2007. For this aim, 14 rats were divided into 2 groups: I/R (control) and I/R+acupuncture (...

[Influence of diabetes mellitus on cerebral ischemia and reperfusion injury].

Cerebral ischemia, caused by disturbance of the blood supply to the brain, is a major cause of death in our days. Diabetes mellitus exacerbates neuronal death induced by an ischemic insult. It is important to characterize the underlying mechanism of the cell damage in order to design therapeutic agents. The purpose of this study is to summarize some of the intracellular events leading to aggrav...
